Cascade  is a trusted, community-based environmental consultancy serving the Sea to Sky Corridor and beyond for over 25 years. Known for our deep local knowledge, responsive service, and technical excellence, we are proud to be a go-to partner for environmental planning and assessments in resort and recreation communities.

We are currently seeking an experienced Environmental Professional to join our Squamish-based team and welcome applications from candidates who currently possess any of the following designations: R.P.Bio., AScT, P.Ag., RPF, R.B. Tech or equivalent Qualified Environmental Professional (QEP).

This role offers a dynamic mix of office and fieldwork, working on projects ranging from ecosystem assessments to land use planning and environmental compliance. It is an excellent opportunity for a self-directed, motivated professional to contribute to meaningful work while supporting community growth and environmental stewardship.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and deliver projects related to environmental assessments, permitting, and environmental risk management
  • Conduct terrestrial and aquatic field assessments (e.g., wildlife surveys, habitat evaluations, RAPR, invasive species monitoring)
  • Prepare technical assessment reports and permitting applications
  • Oversee and prepare construction environmental management plans (CEMPs), mitigation plans, compensation and restoration plans and compliance documentation
  • Coordinate permitting processes with municipal, provincial, and federal regulators
  • Provide environmental advice and impact mitigation strategies to clients and project teams
  • Mentor junior staff, coordinate field work, and contribute to a supportive team culture
  • Participate in stakeholder engagement with clients, Indigenous communities, regulatory bodies and the public
  • Contribute to proposal writing and scope development

What You Bring:

  • Professional designation in good standing (R.P.Bio., AScT, P.Ag., RPF, or equivalent Qualified Environmental Professional)
  • 5–15 years of professional experience as a QEP in environmental consulting, natural resource management, or related fields
  • Strong working knowledge of BC environmental legislation and permitting, municipal permitting, and federal environmental policies and regulations such as Species at Risk and the Fisheries Act
  • Demonstrated experience in terrestrial and aquatic assessments, riparian assessments, wildlife salvages, and habitat restoration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with technical reporting
  • Project management and team leadership experience considered a strong asset
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s license
  • Preference for candidates based in or near Squamish; occasional travel may be required

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Electrofishing certification and fish salvage experience
  • CPESC or Environmental Site Assessor certification
  • Wildlife Danger Tree Assessor Certificate
  • Strong field identification skills (vegetation and/or wildlife)
  • Experience managing compliance and environmental monitoring for construction projects
